In the latest Without Prejudice podcast, Charon QC, Timothy Pitt-Payne QC, Amanda Bancroft of Beneath The Wig and I discuss
- Lady Hale’s comments on legal aid
- the law on checking out potential employees
- the Milly Dowler murder trial, and treatment of her parents
- Alex Salmond’s spat with the UK Supreme Court over human rights
- Ken Clarke’s new “stab a burglar” idea.
David Allen Green couldn’t be with us last night – we missed him, but he’ll be back next time.
Clearly the helicopter sound effects were beyond the control of the participants, but I did find the fairly constant flicking of a lighter – presuambly to light a pipe – and clinking of the decanter somewhat distracting. The only image I have is of a smoke filled room or the dinner table late into the evening when the port is circulating. Good discussion though, many thanks to all concerned.
Thanks, Andy! I insisted on only touching non-alcoholic drinks such as water and pinot grigio, but that Charon got through several pipes and a half-pint of madeira, washed down with a little rioja.
I know I have asked before, but I’d really appreciate an RSS feed for these podcasts, then I could subscribe and find them automatically synced to my mp3 player (like my other podcasts) convenient when I want to listen to something on the train — rather than painfully downloaded one by one manually 🙁
iTunes gives it as feeds.feedburner.com/withoutprejudicelawpodcast
(As to the clinking, anything that help the conversation flow is good.)
